I've had a few different types. Pioneer, Alpine and Panasonic. I like the Alpine the best. Sounds great and it has the 4v pre-outs for the sub channel as well. Had a Alpine head unit in my ride when I won 1st for SQ at the last soundoff I entered. Pretty hard winning SQ when you have four 15" subs in a sub wall. I would attribute the win to the deck which was alpine. Thats just my opinion though. My brother used to have a JVC and said it was ok but not spectacular. I don't know much about the deck you are looking at. Try it out first at a stereo shop. It only matter what sound best for you....

If you dont like the complicaed HU's, and want really good SQ, then go with an Eclipse. Ive got the bottom of the line Eclipse from last years model line, and absolutely love it. It easily outperforms all my friends's, whose systems consist of Alpine(higher end, not quite top of the line)Clarion, and Pioneer. It sounds better through and through, and its so simple, dont even need to look at it to change stuff around, big plus when your drivin a fast car http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/wink.gif Anyway, i dont mean to bash any of the other brands, they're great, but i just personally like Eclipse better...Although, if I happen to get a new HU, i might just try out those new Rockfords, the ones that play MP3 discs..heard one at the store awhile back, about comparable to Eclipse....
